“Hush”
Automatic Loveletter
Ever need a song to help you have that good cry? “Hush” has definitely become one of my favorite heartbreak songs to listen to when I need to let it all out. Automatic Loveletter’s lead singer Juliet Simms’ raw and gritty voice makes her seem vulnerable. The song reaches down into your core, making you empathize with every word. Simms croons, “When rivers turn to roads and lovers become trends, hush, this is where it ends.” I first saw this band live at a Valencia concert, and I was immediately hooked. As one of the better underground rock bands, they deserve a listen. You will undoubtedly find yourself attracted to their avant-garde music and frankly, their badass-ness.
“White Flag”
Ashlyne Huff
All right girls, here’s a song you’ll want to add to your weekend playlist. “White Flag” is the ultimate number to jam out to as you’re putting your makeup on and choosing that perfect outfit for a night out. This song delivers ultra-catchy pop beats that make dancing inevitable. Though the lyrics are not the most complex or heartfelt, Ashlyne Huff sings about giving into a love and releasing all inhibitions. After the first listen, you’ll have this one on repeat for sure.
“Not Enough for Me”
The All Ways
The All Ways is one of those small town bands with a lot of undiscovered talent. With their cover of Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” at over 51,000 views on YouTube, the band definitely puts some of their best original work into “Not Enough For Me.” Lead singer Austin Massirman proves he has one powerful set of pipes, and guitarist Jon Colantonio’s strong but soothing backup vocals are the perfect complement to Massirman’s vocal range. This song offers a simple yet strong percussion accompanying the blunt and provocative lyrics. Having already done two tours along the east coast, this is definitely a band you should keep on your radar.
