Alumna Jessica Adair and the Minnesota Lynx posted a 73-67 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Friday night, completing a three-game sweep of the WNBA Finals.
Adair played 12 minutes, grabbed four rebounds and posted three points to the victory, the first WNBA championship in program history.
The Lynx held off a late Dream rally, withstanding a push that saw their lead close to just 67-63 with 51.5 seconds remaining. Minnesota closed the postseason with six straight wins, sweeping Phoenix in the Western Conference finals and Atlanta in the championship.
While at GW, Adair ranked 11th all-time in points with 1,475, as well as seventh in rebounds (770) and fifth in blocks (161). She was named to the Atlantic 10′s first team three times, becoming the 10th player in conference history to do so.
