Police vehicles responded to two separate incidents on F Street Wednesday night that were reported within minutes of each other.

Metropolitan Police Department Sgt. Vernon Gudger said the department received a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.

Students in the Dakota and 2109 F Street residence halls saw a young woman covered in blood sobbing and lying on the street at the corner of F and 21st streets. The students said the woman was picked up by an ambulance approximately 5 minutes later. The extent of the women’s injuries are unknown, as is her affiliation to GW.

About the same time, two women got into an argument that turned physical outside the Allen Lee Hotel at 2224 F Street, an employee of the hotel said.

One of the women was waiting to be picked up outside the hotel with her young child, when her boyfriend arrived with another woman, the employee said. A fight broke out between the women, which lasted several minutes until the second woman left in her car. The employee said there were no weapons involved.

Although police officers on scene searched the woman, Gudger said MPD did not receive any reports for the dispute. A Metropolitan Police Officer declined to comment early Thursday morning about any arrests in the case, directing all questions to a public information officer.

Sarah Ferris, Andrea Vittorio and Priya Anand contributed this report.
