Senior goalkeeper Lindsey Rowe has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, the league announced today, after she posted back-to-back shutouts over the weekend.
This is Rowe’s third time earning the accolade during her four-year career.
Rowe totaled 14 points over GW’s games against St. Bonaventure and Duquesne this weekend. The Colonials earned four points coming out of the weekend’s play, good enough for a second-place tie in conference standings.
“Lindsey did a fantastic job this weekend and we couldn’t be happier with her efforts,” head coach Tanya Vogel said. “She is selfless and is constantly thinking about team goals, and I think she will definitely use this as momentum to work hard for the girls from here on out.”
Rowe posted nine saves in Friday’s 0-0 double-overtime draw against St. Bonaventure, and six more in the Colonials 1-0 overtime win against Duquesne Sunday. It was GW’s first A-10 victory of the season.
Rowe and the Colonials next head to Saint Joseph’s Oct. 7 at 7 p.m.
