Weekend Outlook

For those of you who aren’t busy with sorority or fraternity rush this weekend, attend some of these District events.

Thursday:

Attend the opening party for the Emerge Art Fair at the Capitol Skyline Hotel. The event starts at 7 p.m. and showcases art by 75 exhibitors, both national and international. Students pay $10.

Friday:

Head over to Alex Gallery for the fifth event of D.C. Fashion Week. The show will feature special guest collections from Switzerland and from the executive producer of Fashion Week. Admission is free.

Saturday:

Do you love a good book every now and then? Try out the National Book Festival on the Mall Saturday and Sunday. The event will include book readings, author discussions, writing workshops and meet-and-greets in celebration of the written word.
