Eckles Library marks 24th birthday with treats

This post was written by Hatchet Reporter Emily Cirillo

Eckles Library celebrated its 24th birthday Monday with free cupcakes for about 100 students who passed through the library.

Students received a free cupcake or fruit cup if they stopped by Eckles Library, located on the Mount Vernon Campus, between 2 and 4 p.m. The library also offered free coffee and candy to students all day. Students can usually purchase coffee for 50 cents from the library’s hot drink machine.

“It’s a great way to reach out to students at the beginning of the year and let them get to  know us,” Robin Delaloye, outreach coordinator for Eckles Library, said.. “And what better way to give them free coffee and cupcakes?”
