GW Veterans is hosting a care package fundraiser at FoBoGro this week for deployed troops.
The student-run veterans support group will accept money and various food, toiletry, and clothing items for the drive until this Sept. 18.
The care packages will be sent to students and alumni, as well as friends and family of GW Student Vets members, who are deployed overseas. Extra packages will be sent to Freedom Alliance, an organization that has sent out over 3,000 care packages overseas since January 2011.
Geoff Ball, the community outreach coordinator for the group, said the most needed items are socks, pens, baby wipes, razors, sunflower seeds, granola bars, magazines and pillows.
