Mac users report wireless issues on campus

Students with Mac computers are reporting wireless connection issues , but a Division of Information Technology said the department revolved any potential glitches in the system earlier this morning.

Earlier today the new GW1X wireless system that the University rolled out this fall experienced an outage when too many users tried to log in, Rachel Blevins, the marketing and communications manager of the Division of Information Technology, said.

“As more people logged in, they couldnt get on,” Blevins said, adding that the department then upped the number of users the system is capable of holding and resolved the issue at about 10 a.m.

She said students who still cannot log in to the Internet should contact Student Technology Services because they have not yet received any other complaints.
