Corba, Blakeley, Pascarella earn all-conference honors

Women’s tennis junior Jacqueline Corba has been selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference first team, and freshmen teammates Julia Blakeley and Leah Pascarella have been selected as members of the A-10 all-conference second team, the conference announced Friday.

Corba, who typically plays at the No. 1 singles position for the Colonials, went 9-7 in singles play this season, picking up all but two of her victories in straight sets. Blakeley, a native of Irvine, Calif., had a 10-6 singles record this season, and went 9-4 in the No. 2 singles slot. Pascarella had a 12-6 singles record, including a 4-2 record against conference opponents. The Frankfort, Ill., native has also teamed up with Blakeley to go 4-5 as a doubles team.

The Colonials finished fourth at the 2011 Atlantic 10 Championships earlier this month, ending the year with a 12-7 spring-season record and posting their second straight season with double-digit victories.
