What We’re Watching

Hatchet reporter Jennie Krems shares her latest flicks.

Paul” is a very original and hilarious comedy about two British comic book geeks on holiday for Comic-Con. While driving through Nevada’s Area 51, which is known for its UFO sightings, Graeme (played by Simon Pegg) and Clive (played by Nick Frost) have a close encounter with an alien who is on the run from the US government. Paul (voiced by Seth Rogan) is a smart-talking, free-spirited little green alien who takes Graeme and Clive on the adventure of a lifetime.

The cast is stacked with comedians including Kristen Wiig and Bill Hader, both from Saturday Night Live, who have supporting roles just as zany as the characters they were known for playing on SNL. This is the most recent collaboration between Pegg and Frost who have teamed up for “Hot Fuzz” and “Shaun of the Dead” in the past. If you’re looking for a good laugh from a lot of great comedians in one movie, check out this madcap comedy about a charismatic alien and his unlikely friends. (1:44, R)
