Softball freshman outfielder Chelsea Lenhart was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week Monday. It was the third time this season and second week in a row Lenhart earned the honor.
The award came on the heels of a week in which Lenhart went 10-for-18 at the plate over five games, hitting five doubles and driving in nine runs with no strikeouts. She performed particularly well in the Colonials’ weekend doubleheader against Dayton, going 5-for-8, stealing two bases, hitting two doubles, and drawing a pair of walks. Lenhart also drove in three runs against the Flyers, including the game-tying run in the first game of the doubleheader.
Lenhart and the Colonials next travel to Towson Wednesday, March 30, with first pitch scheduled for 3 p.m. GW returns home next weekend to host A-10 contests against St. Joseph’s Friday, April 1, at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 2, at 12 p.m., and a doubleheader against Temple Sunday, April 3, at 12 p.m.
