Led by senior Leslie Delima, GW will send five gymnasts to the regional round of the NCAA gymnastics championship, the NCAA announced today.
Delima, who was named to the All-East Atlantic Gymnastics League first team in the all-around, floor exercise and balance beam, will be joined on the trip by freshmen Betsy Zander and Kiera Kenney, as well as sophomore Kayla Carto and redshirt sophomore Monique Blount. Zander and Carto each qualified as all-around competitors, while Kenny qualified as a competitor on the uneven bars, a discipline in which she was named to the All-EAGL second team. Blount qualified for the regional meet on the balance beam.
The five Colonials will compete in the regional round April 2 in Athens, Ga. hosted by the University of Georgia.
