Senior Leslie Delima was named to three All-East Atlantic Gymnastics League teams Friday night and gymnastics head coach Margie Foster-Cunningham was named the EAGL Coach of the Year Friday at the conference’s championship banquet.
It’s the first time that Foster-Cunningham has been named EAGL Coach of the Year in the seven years since GW joined the league. She was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year four times prior to GW’s move to the EAGL.
Delima, who was named GW’s Most Valuable Performer at the banquet, was named to the all-league first team in the balance beam, floor exercise and the all-around. It’s the second time in as many seasons that Delima has earned first-team honors in the floor exercise.
Sophomore Kayla Carto and freshman Besty Zander were both named to the all-league second team for the all-around and freshman Kiera Kenny was named to the second team in the uneven bars.
Associate Athletic Director Mary Jo Warner was also honored Friday night as the EAGL Administrator of the Year.
The Colonials will play host to the EAGL Championships Saturday afternoon at the Smith Center beginning at 2 p.m.
