At least it’s not Monday! If there’s one thing we should honor our former presidents for, it’s giving GW a reason to cancel Monday’s classes. But the long weekend doesn’t have to stop there. Try out these events to make the next four days less of a chore.
• Underoath and Thursday will be performing at the 9:30 Club tonight. Tickets cost $20. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
• Go see the National Museum of American History’s exhibit, “The Kennedys 50 Years Ago,” which is on view daily until the end of February. The exhibit features a collection of photos taken by Richard Avedon of John F. Kennedy and his family before the start of his presidency.
• Melvin G. Williams Sr. and Melvin G. Williams Jr. will be leading a discussion on their book, “Navigating the Seven Seas: Leadership Lessons of the First African American Father and Son to Serve at the Top in the U.S. Navy,” this Wednesday. The event starts at 6 p.m. at the U.S. Navy Memorial.
And here’s something to raise your (holy) spirits:
A California couple says they’ve found the image of Jesus on one of their wooden rocking chairs.
