Now that the second semester is officially in full swing, that can only mean one thing: everyone’s stress levels have shot back up. Here are a few leisure activities to ease the tension in your shoulders.
• How did you react when you first heard of Arizona’s anti-illegal immigration bill? Hear a number of responses to the bill this Friday at “Floricanto in Washington: A Multicultural Reading in Response to SB 1070,” a poetry reading hosted by The Split This Rock Poetry Festival. Attendance is free of charge with a suggested donation of $5.
• Head over to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center for the Washington Auto Show. For just $12, you can marvel at the newest car models you can’t afford to drive. Word on the street is if you make it there tonight, Snooki from MTV’s The Jersey Shore will be making an appearance.
• Best Coast and Wavves will be performing at the 930 Club tonight. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets cost $20.
And here’s something to Tweet home about:
A number of banks in the U.S., including Bank of America and Citibank, have opened customer service accounts on Twitter for all those unhappy customers. It looks like now all you’ll need is 140 characters or fewer to get the attention you deserve.
