Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty to speak at GW

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty will speak in the Marvin Center Jan. 13.

Minnesota Gov. and rumored 2012 presidential hopeful Tim Pawlenty will speak at GW next month about his views on the Obama administration, the College Republicans announced this week.

Pawlenty was on Sen. John McCain’s short list as a potential running mate in the 2008 presidential election and is rumored to be seeking the Republican nomination for president in 2012.

The talk – sponsored by the CRs – will take place Jan. 13 in the Marvin Center Continental Ballroom from 6 to 8 p.m. Pawlenty will give a short speech about the “necessity of stopping the Obama administration’s liberal agenda,” answer audience questions, and will be holding a meet-and-greet session. No tickets are needed to attend.

The CRs hosted several speakers during the fall semester, including Republican strategist Karl Rove, former Sen. Norm Coleman and Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa.
