Thanksgiving Break is almost here! Here’s some ways to enjoy the countdown to the holiday.
- What’s the best part about GW’s spacious living accommodations? There’s ample space for a Christmas tree (or holiday shrub, depending on your preference). As Thanksgiving rolls closer and the holiday spirit grows more and more infectious, get into the spirit by handpicking your own pine out at any of the tree farms convenient to campus, including Butler’s Orchard in Germantown, Md. and Middleburg Christmas Tree Farm in Middleburg, Va.
- The Corcoran Gallery of Art is hosting a cocktail hour with Dare Myers Hartwell, the Head of Conservation, in the 18th-century French-style Salon Doré. Learn about the de-installation, re-installation, and restoration of this stunning space in an intimate setting, over drinks. With admission prices at $30 for nonmembers and $24 for members, this unique opportunity will certainly make for your classiest Thursday of the semester.
And some good news for the week:
The National Gallery of Art’s ice-skating rink opened last Saturday. A student ticket and a pair of rented ice skates costs $9. The rink closes at 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 10 p.m. on weekends.
