At around 11 a.m. The GW Hatchet reported to the University Police Department that individuals were removing copies of The Hatchet’s Oct. 28 issue from various locations around campus.
The Hatchet – GW’s independent student newspaper – also reported the alleged thefts to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Readers who are unable to find a copy of The Hatchet are encouraged to stop by the paper’s townhouse at 2140 G. Street, NW or to read online at www.gwhatchet.com.
It is unknown how many papers were removed, but several locations on the Foggy Bottom Campus – including Monroe Hall, Gelman Library, Thurston Hall and Ivory Tower – do not have their intended supply.
In an effort to be as transparent as possible, the editors of The Hatchet will update the University community as more information becomes available.
