It’s Monday…

Already ready for the weekend? Here’s some fun goings-on this week to get you to Thursday a little quicker:

  • Tired of spending Monday nights alone? Head out to Single’s Night at Freddie’s Beach Bar and Restaurant tonight from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. for half-price meal deals, karaoke, Wii games and some single mingling. Who knows? Maybe your manic Monday could turn lucky.
  • Nothing like cynical humor to get you through “hump day.” Catch Tucker Max, author of I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell, reading from his new essay collection, “Assholes Finish First,” at Busboys and Poets this Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
  • If you’re still recovering from last week’s crazy Thursday, catch Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, performed by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, at The Music Center of Strathmore this Thursday in North Bethesda at 8 p.m. They say classical music is good for the brain, so you may even be coherent for this Friday morning class.
  • Who says the Smithsonian doesn’t know how to party? “Portraits After 5,” this Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the National Portrait Gallery, features video projections, a photo booth, and  a DJ.
