An army of trailers rolled their way through Foggy Bottom and into Kogan Plaza for the Clinique and Teen Vogue Fresh Faces Tour.
Representatives from Clinique were providing on-site makeovers and beauty tips Wednesday and Thursday. The event started at 11 a.m. on Wednesday and was scheduled to end at 4 p.m., but the high volume of interested girls kept the make-up artists working long after the close.
GW is the second stop on the Fresh Faces Tour, which started in Boston earlier in the week and will eventually end up in Los Angeles. The tour targets young women interested in the fashion, beauty, and publishing.
On Wednesday, a panel of industry experts chatted with students, giving them career advice and tips on how to break into the fast-paced industries of beauty, journalism, and fashion. Celebrity make-up artist Jenna Menard and Teen Vogue Beauty and Health director Eva Chen both gave their personal tips. Joining them were local journalists Betsy Lowther, author and founder of the blog “Fashion is Spinach”, and Nicole Aguirre, editor in chief of Worn Magazine.
In addition to getting women interested in the industry, the tour is looking for a student who can serve as the “2010 Clinique Fresh Face.” Those who graced the beauty tents could apply on iPads (paper applications are so 2005) located in the waiting area. The lucky one chosen will receive a summer internship with Teen Vogue and Clinique. Those interested can also apply online.
