GW hosted its 5th annual Safety Expo on Wednesday as part of National Preparedness Month.
The expo was focused on “safety, including fire, emergency management and crime prevention,” and had many interactive activities.
One table that drew onlookers presented a simulated blood-alcohol-level measuring machine. Students could enter their height and weight, average time they started drinking alcohol on any given night, and even how much they poured into their cup. The machine then showed how soon their BAC would rise and how long it would stay in their system.
While GW students dominated the yard, other members of the Foggy Bottom community filed in to snack on free pizza and a look at the Homeland Security’s bomb squad trucks.
