Funnymen Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert announced plans to host opposing rallies on the National Mall Oct. 30, during their respective shows Thursday night.
Stewart’s Rally to Restore Sanity, which will take place three days before the the midterm elections, comes not long after – and perhaps in response to – Glenn Beck’s Aug. 28 Restoring Honor rally. Colbert is organizing a counter march – The March to Keep Fear Alive – meant to keep America on its toes.
Stewart plans to film his show in D.C. Oct. 25 to 28 and TBD reports that park permits are in the works.
