Students hoping to see the Grammy-nominated Barenaked Ladies perform during Alumni Weekend in University Yard will be able to register for a ticket drawing beginning Aug. 30, a University administrator said Monday.
The Office of Alumni Relations has set aside 200 tickets for current students, according to their website. Interested students can register on the website to enter a ticket lottery beginning Aug. 30 until Sept. 13. The winners will be chosen randomly and notified on Sept. 20. Tickets will be free of charge.
Some students registered for Alumni Weekend in order to obtain tickets to the concert. But Matt Lindsay, executive director of alumni strategic marketing and communication, said those students have been notified that they were not supposed to try and obtain a ticket to the concert this way. Those students will be refunded the $10 Alumni Weekend registration fee they paid to obtain tickets, and will be entered in the ticket lottery. Those students are not guaranteed one of the 200 tickets.
The Oct. 1 concert will kick off Alumni Weekend 2010. The performance will be free for the alumni who pay the $10 registration fee for the weekend festivities.
