With more than $46,000 and two Jeopardy wins under his belt, GW alumnus John Krizel will compete Tuesday night for a third straight win on the famous trivia program.
Krizel made his first appearance July 16 and won $26,000. He then won more than $20,000 in his second appearance July 19.
“It was pretty sweet,” Krizel said of the win. “I saw myself answering yesterday and buzzing in, and I said to myself I didn’t know that answer. It’s kind of surreal out of body experience.”
Krizel said that luck was a major factor in his success thus far on the show.
“The people that go on that show are smart, so it’s a lot of luck,” Krizel said. “The questions that you get right – it’s luck with the categories and luck with the buzzer.”
Since his two appearances on the show, Krizel said he has received countless texts from friends and has had strangers reach out to him on Facebook.
“People are very supportive,” Krizel said. “I get a bunch of texts and almost 30 facebook friend requests from people I’ve never met.”
Although Krizel wouldn’t say much about his performance on Tuesday’s pre-taped episode, he said the episode is worth watching.
“They filmed this episode just fifteen minutes after [Monday] night’s. I changed clothes and they re-did my makeup and then boom it’s on,” Krizel said. “This will be a fun game to watch I think.”
Krizel will make his third appearance on the show Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. on WJLA.
