The suspicious package found near 19th and F streets that closed down a large part of campus Wednesday morning was not a bomb, the Washington Post reported this afternoon.
The FBI told the Post that a package contained “what looked like a pipe bomb,” but was not actually a bomb. Agents are looking into whether the package was intentionally arranged to look like an explosive device.
The area around 19th and F streets are cleared and all GW buildings are now open to the public, including Thurston Hall where incoming freshmen for Colonial Inauguration 4 are living during their three day orientation program .
