Upgrades to the new GWorld card program are set to begin Wednesday at 8 p.m. and students will not be able to use Colonial Cash during the process, the University announced in an Infomail Monday.
The operation is set to last for nine days, though select GWorld vendors will accept the cards as a method of payment again on July 1. A full list of merchants and schedules is available on the GWorld website.
Those who park on campus and use the Colonial Cash debit system must draw tickets when entering the garage on June 30. Permit parking, swipe access into GW residence halls and facilities, pay-for-print computer lab machines, Sodexho dining services and the bookstore will not be affected by the upgrades.
The new GWorld 2.0 cards feature a tap-and-enter system, similar to Metro SmarTrips.
