The GW Division of Information Technology was one of only six colleges named to Computerworld magazine’s annual list of the best places to work in information technology.
The weekly magazine ranked the 100 best places for professionals in the field to work. The publication said that the University’s tuition policy – which provides its 285 IT employees with discounts on university courses and a “talent management program” – made it stand out over other national organizations.
The IT department is responsible for providing students, faculty and staff with technology infrastructure. The GW division was placed at No. 66 on the list, appearing for the third time over the list’s 17 years of publication.
“GW’s selection to this list of top IT organizations for three consecutive years is both an honor and a calling to expand on our past successes and to continue to make a contribution to the GW community,” David Steinour, the chief information officer at GW, said in a news release.
The other colleges included on the list were the University of Pennsylvania, the University of Miami, Temple University, Indiana University and the University of Oklahoma.
