A Severe Thunderstorm watch is in effect in the D.C. Metropolitan Area from Thursday afternoon into Thursday evening, according to an Alert DC message.
According to the alert, National Weather issued a Flash Flood Watch from 5 p.m. until late Thursday night, and a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9 p.m.
Some thunderstorms may be “severe with damaging winds and hail,” according to the alert.
