Alumnus hits $266 million jackpot, says he will donate to GW

A GW alumnus hit the jackpot on Tuesday. Literally.

Gilbert Cisneros – who graduated from GW in 1994, according to the Office of the Registrar – and his wife won $266 million after Cisneros purchased a Mega Millions lottery ticket at a Hawaiian restaurant in California.

Cisneros said on the Today show he plans to donate some of the money to GW.

“We’re going to make sure we give back to those that need it, give back to our alma maters, to our church,” he said.
