Fashionistas of the Week is a post featuring the three best-dressed students on campus as spotted by our fashion writer. Keep your eyes open for a reporter and photographer walking around because you might be chosen as the latest trendsetter.
Post written by Hatchet reporter Hallie Mindel.
This week’s fashionistas proved that you don’t have to break the bank to look fabulous and trendy. Our lucky picks knew exactly how to mix high-end pieces with lower end ones, and still look great. Even I was fooled!
Natalie Sayegh, a senior from New York
Sayegh looked extremely chic in a khaki green dress from Urban Outfitters, nude ballet flats from Zara and over-sized sunglasses from H&M. She completed the look with gold bangles. Sayegh typically shops in New York, specifically in the west village at the small boutiques. Natalie looks to her grandmother as well as Nicole Richie for fashion inspiration.
Joshua Joseph, a junior from New Jersey
Joseph is sporting APC jeans, an H&M red, plaid shirt, beige Sperry’s and a Yankees fitted cap. Joseph shops online and is especially a fan of RalphLauren.com. For his fashion inspiration he turns to Andre 3000 and Fonzworth Bentley, host of MTV’s show from G’s to Gents.
Halley Ornstein, a freshman from New York
Ornstein is wearing a striped, cropped t-shirt from Joie, J-Brand skinny jeans and TOMS khaki shoes. She completes her look with white aviators. Ornstein shops at online websites such as singer22 and shopbop as well as in department stores. When asked who inspires her sense of style the most, Ornstein said Leighton Meester.
With tips from our fellow Colonials, you can understand the trends this spring and summer andhopefully find some pieces that fit your budget. The next time you want to freshen up your look, head to stores such as Urban Outfitters, H&M, and Zara where you can get moderately priced pieces.
