One day after being named Atlantic 10 co-rookie of the week on Monday, freshman women’s lacrosse player Nicole Lacey was named rookie of the week by womenslacrosse.com for her play over the weekend in a pair of GW wins over Saint Joseph’s and La Salle, including a game-winning goal in triple overtime on Sunday to beat the Explorers on the road and give the Colonials their first set of consecutive wins this season.
Lacey’s four goals in the back-to-back Colonial wins give her 10 for the season, tops amongst the GW freshman, and her season draw total of 40 is second best in the A-10 and 18th nationally.
Lacey is fourth Colonial in program history to be honored with a weekly award from womenslacrosse.com, but the freshman is the first ever to be recognized as rookie of the week by the website.
