Crime Alert: Female student assaulted in Washington Circle park

A female student reported she was sexually assaulted in Washington Circle park early Saturday morning, according to a Crime Alert sent to the University community Sunday evening. University Police received the report around 5 p.m. Sunday evening.

“GWPD received a report that on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at approximately 4 a.m. near the Foggy Bottom Metro, a female student reported that she gave a male subject directions, and he followed her to Washington Circle, pulled her into the park and tried to kiss her,” according to the Crime Alert. “When she refused, he became angry with her and forced her to touch his genitals. He fled the area in a yellow cab.”

The victim described the alleged attacker as a white male in his mid-2os, between 6-feet 2-inches tall and 6-feet 4-inches tall, and weighing between 200 and 220 pounds with short light brown hair and a reddish beard, according to the Crime Alert. He was wearing a dark blue or green shirt and dark blue denim pants, according to the victim’s report.

The Crime Alert was the third sent to the University community on Sunday.
