The Au Bon Pain in 2000 Pennsylvania Ave has been overcharging students since early January, a University official said Friday.
Some students, faculty and staff making purchases on GWorld cards were allegedly charged up to twice the cost of their orders from January 2 to March 15.
Ed Frechette, senior vice president of marketing for Au Bon Pain, said Sunday the overcharging was the result of an interface issue with BbOne, the system provider for GWorld cards.
Sherrard said in an e-mail that the overcharging may have occurred unintentionally.
“It is our understanding that ABP cashiers may have unintentionally overcharged customers by swiping cards more than once,” Sherrard said.
