Dobson, Maxim safe from disqualification as JEC holds more hearings

The Joint Elections Committee found probable cause on 21 of 83 additional complaints filed over last week’s Student Association elections, JEC Chairman Jake Chervinsky said after a closed-door executive session meeting last night.

Executive vice presidential runoff candidates Logan Dobson and Rob Maxim, both juniors, will each have to appear before the JEC for more violations hearings. Both face a maximum of two penalties if convicted, although neither is at risk for disqualification from the runoff because both would remain under the six penalty limit, Chervinsky said.

The runoff election between Maxim and Dobson will be held online March 10 and 11.

Junior Jason Lifton, who was elected SA president last week, has had no violations filed against him and “will remain penalty-free,” Chervinsky said.
