Former Duke Medicine fundraiser to head GW’s Development office

After a nearly six-month-long search, the University has hired a new vice president for Development and Alumni Relations, University President Steven Knapp announced Wednesday morning.

Michael J. Morsberger, former vice president of development and alumni affairs for Duke University’s medical school, will lead the University’s fundraising and alumni relations team.

Morsberger has more than 23 years of experience in fundraising, and has led fundraising campaigns at the University of Virginia where he helped launch the “largest fund-raising endeavor ($3 billion) at a public university in the United States,” according to the release.
