Fashionistas of the Week is a weekly post featuring the three best dressed students on campus spotted by our fashion writer. Keep your eyes open for a reporter and photographer walking around because you might be chosen as the latest trendsetter.

Jamila Gasimova, sophomore
When asked to describe her personal style, this sophisticated sophomore said “mostly class, and a little retro”. As an advocate of exceptional style, I could not agree more. Wearing a fitted peacoat, tights, and flats, Gasimova exuded confidence and grace at its finest. She admitted to being a fan of Christian Loubutin shoes and designs by Ralph Lauren. She explained that price should not matter when buying clothing – great style is anything that looks nice and makes you feel good about yourself. She also believes that stores like H&M and Urban Outfitters have amazing clothes at more affordable prices.

William Gibb, graduate computer engineering student
This quirky GW grad student adds an interesting twist to fashion.
He describes his personal style as simple and business casual and said he shops for “Whatever I can get from H&M under 30 bucks”. Gibb admitted that he likes to get creative with his hats, which add flair to any outfit. Some of his style icons include David Bowe and Simon Posford, a British electronic musician, whose hat choices Gibb admires. Gibb explained to us that personal style is all about expression. He is a firm believer in not letting the opinions of others affect one’s style choices. While he confesses that he may get a strange look from a passerby on the street for his funky head wear, he remains quite confident and self-assured in his style. Our hats are off to you, Gibb!

Frankie Seguiti, senior
Upon first meeting Seguiti I was struck by his putt-togetherness and his European air right off the bat. “Casually eclectic” is how he eloquently described his personal style choices. With his double-breasted peacoat and patterned scarf, his outfit certainly represents
the right way to wear winter clothing. He also added a bit of toughness and attitude to his outfit with a large silver skull ring. According to Seguiti, personal style is one of the most important ways to express oneself it is also fun. When asked about his fashion inspiration, he immediately responded, “Alexander McQueen, rest in peace!” We could not have said it better, Frankie.
