Frozen Metro service
While service to Metrorail was delayed today because of a derailment on the Red Line not snow-related, this week service was limited to underground stations most of the time due to the snowstorm. Metro even experienced record-low ridership on Wednesday. Greater Greater Washington has a cool slideshow that gives a good picture of how the system was impacted. Basically, the restricted service made it seem like we were living in the District during the 1980s. Check it out here.
Keeping D.C. government in check
On Monday, the District launched a new government accountability Web site, Track DC. You can see what’s up with D.C. agencies and review budget and performance data. The site is being compared to one the White House launched recently, but D.C.’s has received better reviews.
