With no more snow expected in D.C. for the next few days, this weekend’s GW athletic events are currently expected to be played as scheduled, Director of Athletics Jack Kvancz said today.
There were previously some concerns about additional snowfall impacting travel plans.
“I don’t think there’s gonna be any more snow, so I don’t think there’s gonna be any change of plans,” Kvancz said. “We’re back to normal.”
Kvancz said that changes remain a possibility even though none are planned at this time.
Eight GW teams are scheduled to be in competition this weekend:
- Men’s basketball will travel to the Bronx to play Fordham Saturday at 1 p.m.
- Women’s basketball will travel to Olean, N.Y. to play St. Bonaventure Sunday at 1 p.m.
- Women’s gymnastics will host North Carolina State in the Smith Center Sunday at 1 p.m.
- Men’s and women’s squash will host Haverford in the Smith Center Saturday at 1 p.m. and both travel to Princeton, N.J. for additional matches Sunday.
- Women’s water polo will open its season Friday against Villanova in Lewisburg, Pa. and then play two matches Saturday against Wagner and Siena.
- Men’s tennis will play Duquesne in Monroeville, Pa. Friday.
- Women’s tennis will host George Mason at Montclair Community College in Woodbridge, Va. Saturday and travel to Philadelphia to meet with Duquesne Sunday.
