For the second year in a row, GW has taken the no. 1 spot for having the most undergraduate alumni serving in the Peace Corps from a medium sized university, according to a press release from the Peace Corps.
GW tops the list of Peace Corps volunteers for colleges and universities with 5,000 to 15,000 undergrads. There are currently 53 GW alumni serving in the Peace Corps – an aid organization that seeks to promote peace worldwide.
GW’s cross-town neighbor American University took the no. 2 spot, with 51 alumni serving. Georgetown University took the no. 8 spot, with 30 alumni serving.
GW ranks higher than four Ivy League universities in the medium sized college and university category. Cornell University, The University of Pennsylvania, Yale and Brown ranked no. 3, 15, 23 and 25 respectively.

- American University: 51 alumni volunteers
- Cornell University: 46 alumni volunteers
- Miami University – Ohio: 43 alumni volunteers
- The College of William & Mary: 40 alumni volunteers
- Western Washington University: 38 alumni volunteers
- Boston College: 36 alumni volunteers
- Georgetown University and The University of Chicago: 30 alumni volunteers
- The University of Montana: 29 alumni volunteers
- College of Charleston and Northwestern University: 27 alumni volunteers
