GW has selected a five-member class of 2010 for induction into its athletic hall of fame, the University announced today.
The group consists of:
- W. Scott Allen, a 1993 graduate who golfed at GW and went on to become the winningest coach in Colonials history and now coaches at the University of Pennsylvania
- Mike Battle, a two-time men’s basketball team MVP who graduated in 1973 and was drafted by the Washington Bullets of the NBA
- Myriah Lonergan Cain, a former women’s basketball captain who graduated in 1996
- Li Liu, a 1994 alumna and former Atlantic 10 women’s volleyball player of the year
- University President Emeritus Stephen Joel Trachtenberg, who oversaw the end of a 30-year stretch in which no GW men’s athletics teams made a postseason appearance
The induction ceremony will take place on Jan. 23 at the City View Room at 1957 E. St.
