A 21-year-old student was arrested last Sunday after tussling with his roommate over an open window in their Ivory Tower room, University Police Chief Dolores Stafford said.
The student’s roommate, also a junior, decided to press charges after suffering an abrasion on his right arm and scratches on his nose, according to a Metropolitan Police Department report of the incident.
The fight began at about 11 p.m. in the students’ sixth floor Ivory Tower residence hall room, when the alleged victim “attempted to close the window,” Stafford said. According to the MPD report, they began arguing about the bedroom window being closed and the suspect “became irate and shoved [his roommate] to the ground causing the listed injuries.”
Stafford said the student pressed charges and his roommate was arrested and transported to the 4th District station by MPD. They had been roommates in Ivory for almost three months, according to the MPD report.
