For the second time in as many years, men’s soccer senior Andy Stadler was named to the adidas/NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Region First Team, the athletic department announced today.
Stadler scored 13 goals in 13 games this fall to lead the Atlantic 10 during the regular season and also accounted for two of the three hat tricks accomplished in the A-10 this season. His five game-winning scores were tops in the league and his 26 points were good for second.
The Wisconsin native is the first player in GW history to earn such honors twice and finished his career fourth on the Colonials’ all-time scoring list with 35 goals. Stadler was also named to the region’s third team as a sophomore in 2007.
Having been named to the all-region squad, Stadler is now eligible for All-America honors. Mario Lone, who was named a Second Team All-American in 1989, is the only player in program history to have earned them.
