Shekar Ramanuja “S.R.” Sidarth a GW law student is set to appear on tonight’s Jeopardy. S.R. became famous when in August of 2006, then Senator George Allen, R-Va, called Sidarth “macaca,” a term for dark-skinned people commonly used by the French colonist in North Africa. Many saw this outburst as racist, and a big contributor to Allen’s eventual loss to current Senator Jim Webb, D-Va.
One of Sidarth’s law professors posted the story, along with a more detailed description of Sidarth on his blog.
The show will be on tonight at 7:30 p.m. on ABC Channel 7.
