The Black Rooster, located on the corner of L and 19th streets, will close after the bar’s landlord decided not to renew their lease, according to an article in the Washington Business Journal.
The bar’s landlord has offered the space to the Peace Corps, who accepted the deal and will use the area adjacent to their current headquarters for additional offices, according to the Journal. The pub-style bar, which has been in operation for since 1970, will be forced to clear the space by Nov. 3.
