Text of Program Board’s statement on Fall Fest

Program Board has released the following statement:

PB would like to thank all of those who attended Fall Fest today and enjoyed the event. Thousands turned out for a day of amusements, student performances, giveaways and free barbeque in University Yard. Fall Fest 2009 was one of the most highly attended in PB’s history.

PB is extremely disappointed with the actions of a few members of the crowd. After many different objects were thrown directly at Sean Kingston, the concert was temporally suspended and the audience was asked to refrain from engaging in inappropriate and potentially dangerous behavior by Tim Miller, Executive Director of Student Activities Center. Sean Kingston agreed to return to the stage and played continued to play his set. At the end of his set, two additional objects were thrown and struck him. This resulted in Sean Kingston leaving the stage by the direction of his personal security.

PB would like to thank the volunteers and GW administration that worked to make this event possible.
