Secretary of State Hillary Clinton underwent surgery for a fractured elbow at GW Hospital Friday, The Associated Press reported.
Clinton had been taken to the hospital Wednesday evening after falling and hurting her elbow, but she did not stay at there Thursday. The nation’s top diplomat is the second prominent political figure to be at the hospital in recent weeks, as Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor had been treated for an ankle injury there earlier this month.
Clinton’s doctors expect her to make a full recovery without any permanent damage.
