The D.C. Department of Transportation is currently working on a seven-week construction project on 22nd Street NW between G and H streets.

The project, which began around May 11, is expected to be completed by June 30, and will include the repair or replacement of sidewalks, upgraded wheelchair ramps, and resurfaced road pavement.

The sidewalk outside Funger Hall was replaced with brick shortly before Commencement Weekend, and the DDoT worked with GW to ensure there would be access to buildings affected by the construction, according to a letter sent to residents by Muhammed Khalid, the transportation department’s program manager.

Though the street will be resurfaced, the letter said the DDoT intends to leave at least one lane of traffic open at all times.
