Christopher Kojm, a professor at the Elliott School of International Affairs, was selected as the next chairman of the National Intelligence Council, announced Dennis Blair, the director of national intelligence, on Thursday.
Kojm, who previously served as the director of the Elliott School’s Master of International Policy and Practice program, will deal with finances for analyzing and producing intelligence community products, according to a press release from the NIC.
Aside from his work at GW, Kojm has held jobs at the State Department, Princeton University and on Capitol Hill. He was also the Deputy Director of the 9/11 commission, a body which worked to create a complete account of what happened on 9/11 and make recommendations to prevent future terrorist attacks.
In order to assume his position at the NIC, Kojm will leave his position as a professor at the ESIA.
