I’ve often made the point that there is not a single working comedian I find less funny than Adam Sandler. (Jimmy Fallon, Andy Dick and Carrot Top excluded, of course.)
The things is, as is often the case with robustly self-important stances, it’s possible I was wrong.
When I saw the preview for Judd Apatow’s upcoming Funny People a few weeks ago, I felt a lot of good and bad and thoughtful things, processed as a manufactured sense of “alive” only achieved via good ol’ mainstream cinema.
This film could be good, and some smart people at NY Mag think so.
