The Flaming Lips will headline this year’s Green Apple Festival, an environment-based event taking place on the National Mall this Sunday.
Organized by the Earth Day Network, Sunday’s concert will last from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and will also feature guests like Los Lobos, DJ Spooky, and the Howard University Drum Line. The stage will be located on the Mall, at 4th Street.
The event is designed to bring people together in support of “renewable energy, responsible sustainable consumption, and the creation of a green economy based on green jobs,” according to a news release. Last year’s festival drew thousands, despite poor weather.
